ABOUT THE JOB

The Learning and Development Specialist (Business Office Specialty) is responsible for designing, developing, and managing the onboarding and continued skills development of community Business Office Managers. This person will partner with highly effective business office managers and subject matter experts to support the learning and continued development of Business Office Managers.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

People & Culture Leadership:

  • Develop learning programs and materials focused on the community Business Office Managers to support onboarding and job skills training
  • Create, execute, maintain and evaluate existing programs to ensure learning aligns to outlined goals/organizational performance standards, and identify improvements to deliver the best overall experience via online learning, virtual learning, and live facilitation
  • Provide recommendations on updates to organizational standards and best practices
  • Create and activate a highly effective network of Business Office Manager (BOM) subject matter experts (SME) who can offer support in a strategically organized manner
  • Act as a train the trainer and coach to the BOM SMEs (mentors)
  • Partner with BOM SMEs to update and evolve content, coordinate onboarding of new Business Office Managers and deliver program materials
  • Coach BOM SMEs on technology and facilitation skills, as needed
  • Partner with Manager of Learning and Development and IT team to ensure technology and application needs are met prior to new hire start date
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business process owners and key stakeholders to ensure learning programs are aligned with current business needs and processes
  • Partner with the Learning and Development team to leverage instructional design and adult learning best practices

THE EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS YOU’LL BRING

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a successful Business Office Manager in a Five Star community with extensive knowledge of our existing processes and procedures
  • Experience delivering skills based training
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to motivate, direct, and develop team members to be efficient and effective
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize/reprioritize tasks based on changing needs
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with others at all levels of a complex matrixed organization
  • Superior writing, editing, communication and presentation skills; ability to deliver messages in a concise, easy to understand manner, both verbal and written
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated and able to work effective remotely with limited supervision
